gallstone-1

“Doing lots of exercise drastically cuts the risk of developing painful gallstones, UK researchers have found.”

There is some good news for people following regular exercises for their weight loss plan! By physical activity, there is more to your health than just weight loss. According to a latest finding, for the first time there is a direct evidence that exercise helps  reduce gallstone formation, making it more essential for people to get more regular exercises. Gallstones are formed when bile crystallizes into stones and gets settled in the gallbladder.

The same was tested on mice, since humans have a similar set of genes that regulate liver and bile cholesterol metabolism. Mice were given fat intake for certain period and made to run on treadmill and showed low effects of gallstone formation in the gallbladder compared to the ones with the same kind of food intake without any physical activity.

Regular activity may “shake up” the bile, preventing it from solidifying. Researchers confirm after observing the physical activity in adults aged 45 to 79 years, that the more exercise they performed, the lower the risk of developing gallstones by about 60 percent. Exercise will also reduce the chances of surgery for the removal of gallstones.

It has also come to be known that lack of fat in your diet can also bring on a gallbladder attack. Fats are important but should be consumed in right quantities and dissolved through regular exercises. Research shows that a balanced diet high in unsaturated fats  may reduce risk of gallstones.
