Majority of the nutrition experts advise on adopting healthy eating habits permanently, as against fad diets which claim to lose weight in a few days time. Many of the fad diets are difficult to follow and often prove to be ineffective. Many of the fad diets emphasize on the intake of one particular type of food thus violating the principle of good nutrition of a balanced diet which should include a variety of foods in your meals. A diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fat free or low fat diary products can help people manage their weight effectively. Physical exercises on a regular basis is a must to complement your diet and to get into shape. If you are able to make a few changes here and there in your lifestyle, then you have taken a safe and proven route to maintaining your weight and a lifetime of good health.
